An Omaha police officer rushing to a missing child report ended up saving the life of a frantic mother. Officer Leighanne Loges found the woman on the ground outside of an apartment complex in northwest Omaha around 9 am on Thursday.
Officer Loges called for an ambulance and then started CPR. She says the woman started to breathe after several chest compressions. She was taken to a hospital and will be ok.
The woman’s five year old daughter was fine and had been taken to school by someone else who failed to notify the mother.
Officer Loges is a rookie and it was her second day of solo duty.
