Jasmine Cincore, a 5’8 guard from Briarcrest Christian High School near Memphis, TN., gave a verbal commitment to Nebraska women’s basketball for the 2014-15 season. As a junior, she averaged 15 points, seven rebounds, four assists and three steals per game. Her team went 27-2 and she was named Tennessee’s Miss Basketball for Division 2-AA.
In other women’s basketball news, the NCAA is making a rule change by adding a 10-second backcourt violation for women’s basketball. The team with possession must advance the ball past midcourt within 10 seconds or it’s a turnover. Before the change was approved, teams could use as much of the 30-second shot clock as they wanted to move the ball past half-court.
