An Osceola man has been sentenced to at least 20 years in prison for sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl in 2011.
The Attorney General’s office reports that 37-year-old Jeffrey Gomez could serve as much as 35 years in prison for his conviction of first degree sexual assault of a child.
Gomez was convicted in Polk County District Court on May 20th. He also received concurrent sentences of four to five years each for two counts of third degree sexual assault of a child and two counts of child abuse.
A joint Polk County Sheriff’s Office and the Nebraska State Patrol investigation determined Gomez sexually assaulted the victim during a five-month period in 2011.
The name of the victim is being withheld.
