Manny Ramirez began his comeback attempt with the Texas Rangers organization on Sunday night, going 1-for-3 with a single in his first at-bat for the Round Rock Express against the Omaha Storm Chasers. The 41-year old Ramirez hasn’t played in the major leagues since 2011. He also drew a walk.
Omaha starter Yordano Ventura struck out five of the first seven hitters he faced through two scoreless frames before Round Rock pushed across the game’s first two runs in the third inning. Ventura gave up six hits and did not walk a batter and was followed by Buddy Baumann, who yielded one hit and fanned a pair over two scoreless innings.
