Prosecutions in the criminal justice system often involve trade-offs. Now, a Sidney man’s sentence in a felony drug case includes cooperating with authorities in a Sidney murder case.
Fifty-seven-year-old Leland Blake was given five years of intensive supervised probation for felony delivery of hydrocodone.
Terms of his probation include testifying in the murder case of Larry G. Martinez, who has been charged with shooting and killing 30-year-old Mandy Kershman at Blake’s Sidney home just over a year ago.
Martinez will be in court for a status hearing in his murder case on August 15.
