Three people have been detained in Beatrice in connection with an armed robbery at a Lincoln credit union.
Beatrice Police Chief Bruce Lang says the three were stopped shortly after the robbery at Member’s Own Credit Union took place at 1391 South 33rd Street in Lincoln. A man walked into the credit union, displayed a handgun and walked out with an undisclosed amount of money.
Lang says a fugitive task force activated shortly after the robbery focused on a particular residence in Beatrice, where an acquaintance of the suspect lives. While authorities now say only one of the three is a likely suspect in the armed robbery, all are being interviewed.
Authorities feared the three might be armed, but none of the three had weapons at the time of the arrest. They surrendered without incident.
