Nebraska took to the practice fields on Monday evening going through a two-hour workout in shorts and helmets. The Huskers must practice four times before the NCAA allows them to strap on the helmets and pads for full contact. Monday evening’s opening workout was the first of 29 practices leading up the Huskers’ season opener against Wyoming on Aug. 31.
This Nebraska team includes 12 returning starters from last year, when NU finished 10-4 overall, but not much experience on the defensive side of the ball. Sean Callahan reports on running back Ameer Abdullah ready to carry the load and how the offense can pick up the young defense this month.
