She complained of chest pains.
Then, she was re-captured.
34-year-old Corrine Kucera is back in custody after 30 hours of freedom.
Kucera escaped from Lancaster County custody at 3:15am Wednesday. Kucera fled from a Lancaster County officer while being taken to the downtown Lincoln jail. She was not wearing restraints.
An immediate search with bloodhounds proved fruitless, but police caught a break this morning.
The Lincoln Police Department reports officers arrested Kucera shortly before 9am after a brief foot chase near 33rd Street and Leighton. Officers descended on the location after Kucera walked into Blum’s Auto Repair and asked an employee to call an ambulance, because she had been feeling chest pains. The employee dialed 9-1-1 and handed the phone to Kucera who reported her chest pains to the dispatcher.
Kucera was incarcerated for charges related to narcotics fraud. She was not considered dangerous. The corrections officer was not injured during her escape.
