Nebraska Offensive Coordinator Tim Beck addressed the media after Thursday’s practice, as he recovers from sleep apnea surgery, that required his jaw to be wired shut. That hasn’t stopped Beck from getting out onto the field and working hard. His players have taken notice.

–on the offense as a whole. “I like what I see, I think our guys attention has been good, I think the first group has been pretty solid. The second group—there is some younger guys on there that still have to develop, but they are very talented and I like their talent.”
–on the arrival of running backs Adam Taylor and Terrell Newby. “I like both of those guys, both of them have a chance to help us. Two different style of runners, but they both are good at what they do, and they aren’t bad at the other things.”
–on the team’s confidence. “Our guys are going to have to work to earn everything they get like they did last year, they worked hard, believed in the system and in themselves and we were fortunate to have some success. We’ve got to do the same this year, and they are doing that, and I wouldn’t say they are out here just hanging out.”
The Huskers host their first practice tonight in full pads, then their first two-a-day of fall camp on Saturday.
