It happened quickly and quietly.
The arrests came nearly as quickly.
Police arrested two people traveling north on Highway 77, accused of robbing a branch of the Pinnacle Bank in Beatrice this morning.
Shuhna Kuhlmann arrived at the bank this morning with her husband and baby to open an account, only to witness a bank robber.
“He walked in the building. A car pulled up and a woman walked into the building. Not even five minutes later, he walked out with a big wad of cash, like a big wad of cash,” Kuhlmann says, adding that the man fled the bank immediately.
“It was like, fast. I’ve never seen anybody run that fast in my life.”
The robbers took an undisclosed amount of money from the bank.
The robbery took place around 10 o’clock this morning. Police made the arrests about half an hour later.
Chris Kuhlmann says he didn’t get a real good look at the man, but says he did not appear to display a weapon and didn’t make a noise.
“I didn’t hear him say a word. From what I heard from the teller, he handed her a note. That was it. There wasn’t a word said. It was just boom, boom, boom; in and out. You know, after we knew what happened, I’m like, I’ll never forget opening this account.”
