Now through Labor Day law enforcement agencies throughout the state will increase efforts to get drunk drivers off the roads. La Vista Police Chief Bob Lausten says will be conducting one specific checkpoint to look for drunk drivers on August 30th at 118th and Harrison. He says vehicles will be stopped to see if the driver is intoxicated.
Chief Lausten says extra enforcement will be on hand for the checkpoint. Grant money is paying for the extra officers during the annual “You Drink, You Drive, You Lose” campaign.
