Nebraska Game and Parks Commission is gearing up for the final holiday of the summer. Spokesman Greg Wagner says cabins have been booked well in advance and there are no vacancies but finding a good campsite should not be a problem. He says it is a good idea to call in advance. At all recreation areas half of the campsites can be reserved and the other half are on a first-come-first-served basis.
Wagner says with the hot weather expected swimming and boating areas will be busy. He says those swimming should remember to stay within the designated areas. They recommend that poor swimmers wear life jackets and that children are always an arm length away.
Wagner says their boating facilities will be busy as well. He says boating ramps will be busy so be a good neighbor and take your turn. He says making sure you have everything ready to go before backing down the ramp and be sure that there is a life jacket available for every person on-board.
