It is a stop that could save your life. Sara Draper is the spokesperson for Mothers Against Drunk Driving – MADD Nebraska and says they are taking part in two law enforcement sobriety checks this Labor Day Weekend.
One of the checkpoints will be in Sarpy County and the other in Lancaster.
MADD reports in 2011 there were 138 people killed in drunken driving accidents nationwide over the Labor Day Weekend and high visibility enforcement campaigns like “Driver Sober or Get Pulled Over” have been proven effective in their fight.
Statistics show that states that conduct sobriety checkpoints have seen a reduction in fatal drunk driving crashes by 20-percent.
