An eastern Nebraska man died after losing control of his car on I-80, crossing the median of the interstate and crashing into two semi-tractor trailers driving the opposite direction.
The Sarpy County Sheriff’s Office reports Benjamin Behlen of Columbus died in the wreck.
According to the office, Behlen was speeding as he headed east on I-80. He lost control of the car near the rest area close to Melia Hill Saturday night. The car crossed the median and crashed into the two semis traveling west on I-80. A passenger in one of the truck suffered minor injuries. Neither truck driver was injured.
Traffic on the interstate had to be shut down for about an hour after the accident occurred.
