September 4, 2013 By Bill Pollock

Darrien Washington, a 6-foot-2 center from Oakland, CA gave an oral commitment to play for Connie Yori and the Nebraska women’s basketball team.  Washington averaged 16 points, 13 rebounds and five blocks per game for Skyline High School last season. This summer she teamed up with fellow Husker commit Natalie Romeo on the AAU circuit. Romeo and Washington led Cal Stars to a 54-3 record this summer.  Washington joins Romeo (5-8 guard from Concord, Calif.), Kaylee Page (6-2 forward from Wamego, Kansas) and Jasmine Cincore (5-8 guard from Eads, Tenn.) in Nebraska’s 2014 recruiting class.
