A school bus accident in western Nebraska has injured seven students as well as the drivers of the two vehicles involved.
Cheyenne County Attorney Paul Schaub reports a small pick-up travelling west on a county road late yesterday afternoon struck a Potter School District bus travelling north on another county road. The school bus rolled over, injuring the students on board, ranging in age from 10 to 16.
Injuries included a broken pelvis, fractured ribs, and a severe head laceration among other injuries. Both the driver of the pick-up and the school bus driver were injured. All were transported to local hospitals.
The Cheyenne County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the accident.
Emergency personnel from Dalton, Gurley, Sidney, and Potter responded to the accident. The Nebraska State Patrol is assisting in the investigation.
