As the deadline nears, the number of questions increases about just how the new federal healthcare law will work.
A new program seeks to help.
Enroll Nebraska will help organizations get the resources they need to help Nebraskans get the health insurance they need under the new federal law.
James Goddard with Nebraska Appleseed, one of the groups behind Enroll Nebraska, acknowledges there’s been a lot of confusion.
“I think what’s really going on is since so much of the law hasn’t yet gone into effect, people just don’t know as much about it as I believe that they will in the coming months when they start to see the benefits of it apply in their own lives,” Goddard tells Nebraska Radio Network.
A number of organizations have come together to form Enroll Nebraska.
“It’s a really exciting time and we know that working together, we can make sure that people get the information they need to go out and enroll,” Goddard says.
Goddard says as many as 200,000 Nebraska residents will be able to access health insurance once the federal law goes into full effect.
