The Nebraska soccer team extended its win-streak to four games with a come-from-behind 2-1 victory over No. 14 Denver. The win gives Nebraska its first four-game win streak since early 2010 and the first win over a ranked opponent (No. 18 Texas) that same season. The Huskers (6-2-1) responded quickly after Denver (7-1-1) went ahead in the 74th minute on goals from sophomore Katie Kraeutner and freshman Jaycie Johnson in just over a five-minute span to send a large Husker fan base home with a victory.
The game-winning goal was the third-consecutive game-winner for the freshman who now has scored in four straight matches. Johnson currently sits tied for third in the conference and leads all Big Ten freshman in goals with seven. On the match, Nebraska outshot Denver 13-10, including a 7-4 shots on goal advantage.
Nebraska will now go on the road for a pair of Big Ten Conference matches next weekend. NU will travel to Northwestern on Friday, Sept. 27 at 7 p.m.
