Former NFL quarterback critical of Suh (Big Red Report)

September 24, 2013 By Bill Pollock

Former NFL quarterback Boomer Esiason wrote an editorial for Sports Illustrated this week and his first words… “Ndamukong Suh has got to give it up.” Boomer asserting that Suh should step away from the game for a while given his multiple fines for late and dirty hits, suggesting that something goes haywire inside Suh’s head when he puts on pads.

The former Husker defensive standout has been fined six times for $177,500. In 2011 and 2012 he was voted by the players as the NFL’s dirtiest player in a Sporting News poll.

Boomer is suggesting that Suh get a six-game suspension and mandatory therapy after his latest hit, which came in week one against Vikings center John Sullivan. He goes onto say that anyone, such as Suh, who has blatant disregard for the safety and careers of his fellow players needs to change or be removed from the field.

I can’t say I disagree with Esiason on this one.
