Freshman middle Katie Weber had 12 kills and hit .600 to help the 6th-ranked Nebraska-Kearney volleyball team sweep York College (25-13, 25-14, 25-15). The Lopers improve to 12-1 while the NAIA Panthers slip to 2-13. This was believed to be the first-ever meeting between UNK and York on the volleyball court.
Weber (Greeley, Colo.) was one of 11 different Kearney players to register a kill in a match that lasted just over an hour. Having no errors in 20 swings, she also provided three blocks and one dig. UNK hit .380 as a team and dug up 24 more balls, 58-34, than the Panthers. In the serve game, the Lopers had five aces, two coming from freshman DS Kadie Baumgardner.
