A deadlock in Washington DC over the budget continues and a partial government shutdown is now impacting many branches of operations. Roger Humphries is the spokesman with the U-S Postal Service in Omaha and says mail delivery will not be impacted. He says the U-S Postal Service is not subsidized by taxes and therefore offices remain open and carriers will be making home deliveries.
Humphries says the U-S State Department notified the Postal Service that passports will be issued. He says post offices that take applications for passports will continue to do so and those who made appointments should still keep that on the schedule.
