Douglas County Sheriff’s deputies took one man into custody and are searching for a woman in connection with the theft of items from a benefit auction.
Chief Deputy Tom Wheeler says on September 27th the Deja Vu Lounge held the auction to benefit the family of murder victim Andrea Kruger. Two of the items sold, a 50-inch plasma TV and a framed picture of Memorial Stadium were missing after the auction.
Fifty-year-old Jeffery Johnson is charged with felony theft. Douglas County Sheriff’s Chief Deputy Tom Wheeler says Johnson had volunteered at the benefit earlier in the day.
Law enforcement is now on the lookout for 26-year-old Kristin Hunt. She too is wanted for felony theft. They believe she sold the items to the EZ Pawn Shop in Omaha.
EZ Pawn Shop plans to return the items to their new owners.
