Accused murderer Nikko Jenkins pleaded not guilty in court today.
Jenkins is accused of killing four people in Omaha in August. He was released from prison on July 30th after serving more than nine years for robbery, assault and weapons convictions.
Investigators say Jenkins admitted to the murders twice while being questioned. He also state the killings were human sacrifices to an Egyptian god.
Douglas County Attorney Don Kleine charged Jenkins with four counts of first degree murder and many counts of a felon in possession of a firearm.
Kleine says Jenkins’ mother, Lori Jenkins had bond set today at $1-million. She is now charged as an accessory in three of the murders. Prosecutors say she bought the ammunition used in the shootings and provided the gas that was used to burn victim Andrea Kruger’s SUV.
Kleine says no further charges are expected at this time and investigators have completed the collection of evidence. He says there may be some follow up yet to do.
