NU will travel to Purdue this Saturday for their first road game of the season. From what Beck has seen so far, at least defensively, Purdue is tough and thinks their record is a little misleading. The Huskers will be without Taylor Martinez for at least another week and that will mean Beck will lean on youngster Tommy Armstrong. Beck thinks come Saturday, Armstrong will be fine.
One area the Huskers will look to improve on against Purdue is the ability to finish drives late in the game. Although Nebraska outgained Illinois 335-195 in Saturday’s Big Ten opener, the squad only scored three points in the final 17 minutes of the game. Coach Beck commented on his frustration and aims to improve that area this week against Purdue.
