#8 Nebraska-Kearney took care of #15 Wayne State 25-13, 26-24, and 25-12 in non-conference volleyball played Tuesday evening in Kearney. The host Lopers are now 15-2 with the win while Wayne State drops to 12-4 on the season.
UNK held the upper hand in the first set thanks to 10 Wildcat attack errors as the Lopers cruised to a 25-13 win in the opening set. The second set saw Wayne State rally late in a game that featured six ties and two lead changes. UNK picked up a 26-24 win. UNK grabbed control of the third set early, scoring seven straight points to grab an 8-2 lead, as the Lopers completed the sweep with a 25-12 win over the Wildcats.
Nebraska-Kearney hit .254 for the match compared to Wayne State’s .041. UNK held a 44-26 edge in kills and 68-52 advantage in digs.
