The Douglas County Sheriff’s office will conduct an investigation into the death of a female inmate at the Douglas County Department of Corrections. On Tuesday, October 15th at 8:27 pm, corrections officers found 34 year old Amanda Solko of Omaha unresponsive in her cell. Medical staff was alerted and staff called 911.
The Omaha Fire Department arrived and transported Solko to Alegent Health Creighton University Medical Center where she was later pronounced dead.
Solko entered the Douglas County Department of Corrections on October 1st and was being held on $50,000 bond. She was charged with driving during a license revocation.
An investigation is required by state law.
