Glen Clinton rushed for 255 yards and three touchdowns and the Chadron State rushing attack set a school record with 495 yards in its 43-13 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference victory over Black Hills State. The 495 yards rushing just clips the previous record of 492 set against Colorado School of Mines in 2000.
Winona State scored a touchdown with 54 seconds left in the game – after the Wildcats had taken the lead 13 seconds earlier – to hand Wayne State a heart-breaking 45-41 Northern Sun Conference football loss Saturday.
Sophomore quarterback Tyler McKeone ran for 87 yards and two scores in his first start and Nebraska-Kearney took advantage of several special teams mistakes to beat Lincoln University, 24-14. McKeone (Lexington) is the 12th different player to play QB for the Lopers over the last two years and the seventh to start a game. UNK’s other three signal callers — sophomore Bronson Marsh (Millard South), redshirt freshman Sam Brauer (Seward) and true freshman Luke McNitt (Kearney) — are all out with injuries as is receiver/QB Matt Berry (McCook).
