State troopers seized more than 120 pounds of marijuana during two traffic stops in I-80 this past weekend.
The Nebraska State Patrol reports a trooper stopped a sports utility vehicle on I-80 Friday afternoon near the Cozad exit and discovered a little more than 90 pounds of marijuana in five duffel bags in its cargo area.
The driver, 29-year-old Jewell Pendleton II of Raleigh, N.C., has been charged with possession with intent to deliver and jailed in Dawson County.
Another trooper stopped another SUV for speeding on I-80 very early Saturday morning near the Lincoln Airport exit. The trooper found nearly 30 pounds of marijuana in four plastic trash bags in the cargo area of that SUV.
The 46-year-old driver, Wade Davis of Crossville, TN, and his 70-year-old passenger, Martin Singleton of Crescent City, FL, have been charged with possession with intent to deliver and have been jailed in Lancaster County.
