Prosecutors want to file another assault charge against potential Nebraska football transfer Alex Lewis, stemming from an altercation that led to a fight that left an Air Force Academy cadet unconscious back in May.
According to the Boulder Daily Camera, prosecutors filed a motion to add a charge of second-degree assault with a deadly weapon. The weapon is described as Lewis’ hands. The 21-year-old Lewis played for the University of Colorado and pleaded not guilty to second-degree assault causing serious injury and harassment. His defense says Lewis would plead not guilty to any new charge. He’s free on $10,000 bond.
Lewis transferred from Colorado to Nebraska and enrolled in classes in May but has not been part of the Husker football program.
