Emily Cady scored 19 points and 11 rebounds to lead No. 15 Nebraska past Alabama, 62-48. The Huskers improved to 2-0. Cady, hit 4-of-7 shots from the field, including a three-pointer, while going a career-best 10-for-10 from the free throw line. Cady helped Nebraska outscore the Crimson Tide 20-4 at the free throw line for the game.
Point guard Rachel Theriot added 17 points and five assists. Theriot hit 7-of-14 shots from the floor, despite going just 1-for-6 from three-point range. As a team, Nebraska went just 4-for-20 from beyond the arc.
All-American Jordan Hooper struggled after opening the season with 27 points on 9-of-14 shooting against UCLA. Hooper was just 3-of-12 shots, including 1-of-6 from long range to finish with eight points. Hooper did lead the Huskers with 13 rebounds.
The Huskers hit the road for the first time in 2013-14 when they travel to Salt Lake City to battle Utah on Friday. Tip-off between Nebraska and the Utes is set for 6:30 p.m.
