Four finalists have been chosen in the search for a new president of Southeast Community College.
Southeast President Jack Huck has announced he will retire in June of next year.
The chairman of the Presidential Search Committee, Board of Governors Treasurer Dale Kruse, has released the names of the finalists: Dr. Hank Dunn, Ivan Gorne, Dr. Dennis Headrick, and Dr. Paul Illich.
Dunn serves as the president of Asheville-Buncombe Technical Community College in Asheville, N.C.
Gorne is the vice president for student services, facilities and operations at Bates Technical College in Tacoma, Wash.
Headrick serves as the vice president for instruction at Southeast Community College and previously served as the vice president for instruction and Beatrice Campus director at SCC.
Illich serves as the vice president for research, planning and information technology at McLennan Community College in Waco, Texas.
More information on each finalist is available on the SCC website: southeast.edu.
An open forum on all three SCC campuses will be held the week of December 2nd.
“We invite and encourage everyone to attend the open public forums,” Kruse said in a memo to SCC employees. “These forums are open to faculty, administrators, staff, students, and the general public. There will be a brief introduction of each candidate, followed by a question-and-answer session.”
