Desperately-needed aid continues to pour into the Philippines after last weekend’s typhoon and Kids Against Hunger in Nebraska is working hard to get food to those impacted most.
Nebraska co-director Kelly Jo Yaksich says they are partnering with the International Care Ministries in the Philippines to get the food to the hungry.
She says 3-million meals are on the ground there now and another 1-million en-route. Their goal is to package and ship another 4-million meals.
Yaksich says the food packets contain dried soy, vegetables, rice and a vitamin powder.
Yaksich says they will be holding a “Pack for the Philippines” event on Saturday, November 16th from 8:30 until 10 am in Omaha.
Nebraskans who would like to help can also make a donation to help offset the costs of the meal packets and shipping. Details on how to donate are available on their website at www.omahakah.com
