Two California men have been charged with possession of marijuana with the intent to sell it after wrecking their car when they hit a deer on I-80 in west-central Nebraska.
The Nebraska State Patrol reports 33-year-old Justin Bigon, the driver of the car, and his passenger, 32-year-old James Brisco, have been arrested and jailed in Lincoln County. Both are from Santa Rosa.
According to the patrol, the two hit the deer while driving east on I-80 near the Sutherland exit Saturday evening. When a trooper responded, he smelled a strong odor of marijuana in the car. The trooper couldn’t find marijuana in the car, but found two duffle bags with 20 pounds of marijuana wrapped in individual packages 10 feet from the car in the grass near a tree.
