43 year old Chad Johnson, a former coach for the Lincoln Stars hockey team, was found dead along railroad tracks in Fargo, N.D. Back in September, Johnson resigned his position citing health and personal reasons for stepping down. Police are investigating his death, but do not suspect foul play. Johnson’s body was spotted by a crew on a passing train on Monday afternoon.
The Stars posted a statement on their website this morning. “The Stars family is deeply saddened by news that former head coach Chad Johnson was tragically killed on Monday in Fargo. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Chad’s family.”
The USHL is a hockey league geared toward younger players in their teens with a goal of developing talents for college and the NHL.
