A Panhandle man faces a felony charge after allegedly making a threat to Potter-Dix High School.
Thirty-seven-year-old Charles “Dusty” Smith will be in Cheyenne County Court next week for a preliminary hearing on a Terroristic Threats charge. He’s accused of leaving a message on the Potter-Dix High School answering machine November 8 saying he “had to kill all non-virgins and the people that they attend school with.” That according to an application for an arrest warrant.
After discovering the message on Veteran’s Day Potter-Dix Principal Greg Morris notified authorities and was very concerned because the school had a special program scheduled that morning. Authorities tracked down Smith through caller ID and a brief phone conversation leading to his arrest.
