Two dead in central Nebraska fire

December 2, 2013 By Brent Martin

Firefighters found two people dead when responding to a house fire in central Nebraska this weekend.

York Fire Chief Kevin Stuhr reports fire was pouring out of the two main-level windows of a two-story house when crews arrived on the scene Sunday.

Firefighters discovered the bodies of 82-year-old Boyd Berger and his 61-year-old wife, Nancy.

The Nebraska Fire Marshal’s Office determined an electrical failure started the fire.

Autopsies will be performed as part of the investigation.

The tragedy comes on the heels of a similar tragic event in York. On November 2nd, neighbors discovered the bodies of Charles and Myron Bailey, both in their 80s, after their house caught fire.
