Keep the winter coats, scarves and gloves handy because this cold snap is going to last for a while. Josh Boustead is a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Valley and says some areas of the state will remain in single digits while others will see highs in the teens for the next several days but we could be back into the 20’s by the middle of next week and into the 30’s next weekend.
Nebraskans will also have to break out the snow shovel. A widespread system will move through the area starting Saturday night into Sunday. Boustead says the system spreads from northeast Kansas into eastern South Dakota so parts of Nebraska will see some snowfall amount ranging from 1 to 3 inches. He says the snow will be light and fluffy with very little moisture content.
