Two Arizona residents have been arrested, more than 128 pounds of marijuana seized, during a traffic stop on I-80.
The Nebraska State Patrol reports a trooper stopped a pick-up for speeding on I-80, seven miles west of North Platte, Sunday night. A search of the truck found marijuana packed in five bundles in luggage in the cargo area.
The driver, 34-year-old Jose Armenta, and a passenger in the vehicle, 31-year-old Ana Olivarria, both from Tucson, have been charged with possession and intent to sell marijuana.
There were four children in the truck. They have been placed in protective custody of Nebraska Health and Human Services.
