A York County man has been sentenced to 35 to 50 years in prison for causing the death of his four-month-old daughter in 2011.
The Attorney General’s office reports 31-year-old Ryan Kozisek has been sentenced after a York County District Court jury convicted him of one count of child abuse resulting in the death of his daughter, Kayley Kozisek.
“Kayley Kozisek’s life was cut tragically short by her abusive father,” said Attorney General Jon Bruning in a written statement. “Today’s sentence is the appropriate penalty for this heartbreaking crime.”
Kozisek told authorities in January of 2011 that his daughter had stopped breathing after her two-year-old sister fell on here. An autopsy, though, disclosed Kayley suffered multiple injuries that resulted in severe hemorrhaging and brain damage.
