A second teen-ager has died from a weekend traffic crash.
The Cass County Sheriff’s Office reports 14-year-old Jenna Miner of Murray died at the scene of the accident Sunday morning on Highway 75 near Murray. Seventeen-year-old Savannah Robertson suffered critical injuries and was taken to Nebraska Medical Center, where life support was removed Monday afternoon.
Robertson, from Plattsmouth, was driving north on Highway 75 mid-Sunday morning near Rock Bluff Road when the car crossed the center line and struck another car head-on, according to Cass County investigators.
The driver of the other car, 36-year-old Travis Laporte of Papillion, suffered injuries in the accident as did his passenger, 34-year-old Kevin Laporte of Bellevue, his brother. Both are being treated at the medical center where they are listed in good condition.
Miner, partially ejected from the car, died instantly. Family members say Robertson was kept on life support so her organs could be donated. Both were students at Conestoga High School.
