A former state legislator has been struck and killed in a Lincoln grocery store parking lot.
Lincoln police report former state Sen. Jennie Robak died when a car backed over her.
Lincoln Police Captain Martin Fehringer says the accident occurred when a driver backed out of a parking stall and over Robak, walking behind her car. The driver, described as an elderly woman, backed into another couple of cars in the parking lot as well.
Robak was pronounced dead at the scene.
Robak served in the Unicameral for 14 years, representing the Columbus area from 1989 until 2003. She is the mother of former Nebraska Lt. Gov. Kim Robak.
Robak was 81.
