The 16th ranked Nebraska women made just 20-of-65 shots (.308) from the field, including 6-of-17 (.353) three-pointers and came up flat, losing at Michigan State 70-57. The Huskers couldn’t recover from a late first half Spartans rally.
NU was down five in the final two minutes of the first half, when Michigan State closed the half and started the second on a 19-3 run to open up a 21 point lead. The Huskers started slow, falling behind 20-9 before cutting the lead to five twice in the first half.
Emily Cady posted a double-double of 16 points and 12 rebounds. Jordan Hooper added a game high 21 points and eight rebounds for the Huskers.
Nebraska continues its two-game Big Ten road swing by traveling to Illinois on Sunday afternoon.
