The Omaha Police Department terminated the employment of two more officers in connection with an arrest on March 21st that was caught on video. The department states that one officer was terminated January 8th and another was recommended to be terminated on January 9th. The final two officers are awaiting a pre-termination hearing. Their names have not been released.
One Omaha officer was relieved of duty on April 4th, 2013 and three on April 5, 2013. One officer did appeal the termination and the outcome is pending. Two of the officers are facing criminal charges.
This is in connection to the arrest of three brothers at 33rd and Seward Streets. All the officers are accused of excessive force. A neighbor videotaped the incident and posted it on YouTube.
