An explosion rocked the International Nutrition plant in Omaha Monday morning, killing two and injuring 10 others.
An investigation into the cause of the explosion continues. A portion of the plant collapsed. Thirty-eighty workers were on the job at the time of the accident.
Omaha police have identified one of the two who died in the industrial accident as 53-year-old Keith Everett of Omaha.
Recovery efforts at the industrial site have been suspended due to the weather, a bracing mixture of wind, cold, and even occasional snow. That and the extent of the damage to the factory prevented emergency crews from recovering a second body.
Firefighters haven’t determined the cause of the accident, yet. Rescue workers reported seeing flames and smoke as they approached the plant.
A number of groups responded, including Omaha Police, the Nebraska Fire Marshall, OSHA and the Nebraska Task Force 1 Urban Search and Rescue team.
