The building damaged in a deadly collapse at International Nutrition on Monday will be demolished. Jay Davis is Omaha’s superintendent of Building and Development and says they condemned that portion of the building only. The warehouse and the main office on the building site are not damaged and will not be torn down.
International Nutrition owners met with employees who were told they would be paid through this week but after that is not known.
Occupational Safety and Health Administration officials continue to investigate the cause of the collapse and are looking at structural issues or the possibility of dust. They must complete their investigation before demolition can begin.
Two workers were killed in the collapse and 17 were injured.
