A former Lincoln city councilmember has been named executive director of the Nebraska Democratic Party.
Nebraska Democratic Party chairman Vince Powers has announced that Dan Marvin will become the new executive director, succeeding Jim Rogers who resigned the post to become campaign manager for the United States Senate race of David Domina.
“I am excited to announce Dan Marvin as our new executive director. As an elected official, political activist, and recent Executive Director of the tremendously successful Pinnacle Bank Arena project, Dan Marvin has the proven experience and background to lead the Nebraska Democratic Party, as we work to elect Democrats in 2014,” Vince Powers, Nebraska Democratic Party Chairman, said in a written statement released by the party.
Marvin won election as an At-Large member of the Lincoln City Council in 2005. He served as chairman of the council in 2007 and 2008. Marvin served as executive director of the West Haymarket Joint Public Agency.
Marvin served one term on the council. He lost a race for a seat in the Unicameral in 2008.
Marvin has owned and operated Marvin Investment Management Company since 1993.
