Robots are taking over the Strategic Air & Space Museum near Ashland on Saturday. Spokesperson Angela Roeber says the museum is hosting the 5th annual Nebraska Robotics Expo.
More than 1,000 Nebraska K-12 students, sponsors, math and science teache3rs will be taking part in the event that brings two robotic competitions under one roof.
The CeenBoT Showcase features 100 teams from 40 Nebraska Elementary, Middle and High Schools. This is where the public can come and take part in the games. Activities include tae kwon do, minute to win it, a maze, bumpbots, precision driving and more.
More than 50 teams will take part in the FIRST LEGO League where students 9 to 16 will explore storms, earthquakes, waves and other natural disasters. Their goal is to discover what can be done when these natural events meet the places where people live.
This is event is a collaboration with many organizations including the University of Nebraska system, 4-H Extension, OPPD and the National Science Foundation.
