Four CVS Pharmacies in Omaha were the target of a bomb threat Thursday night.
Omaha Police Department spokesman Officer James Shade says in all the cases the threats came from phone calls. The callers demanded that the cash be put on Green-Dot cards, a government card that is basically untraceable.
Officer Shade says the caller threatened to blow up the buildings if they didn’t get the money. He says staff was aware of previous attempts to scam them and called 911. The buildings were searched as a precaution and they were clear.
CVS Pharmacies in Omaha and across the country have been the target of similar scams in recent months.
