The Creighton Bluejays and Nebraska Cornhuskers are headed to the West Regional of the men’s NCAA national tournament. After the initial play-in games, Creighton and Nebraska are set for what is now known as second round games.
Creighton is the No. 3 seed at 26-7 and lost in the BIG EAST Tournament final to Providence. The Bluejays will face 14th seeded Louisiana. The Ragin’ Cajuns are 23-11. . The game is set for Friday in San Antonio.

Doug McDermott set an NCAA records by reaching double-figures in scoring for the 133rd game. McDermott’s 94 points are most in BIG EAST Tourney history for a three-game tournament, passing the former mark of 84 held by Syracuse’s Eric Devendorf in 2009
Tim Miles is taking the Huskers dancing to the Alamo. As the No. 11 seed, Nebraska will also play on Friday when they face former Big 12 foe Baylor, the sixth seed. The Bears are 24-11. The Huskers make the tournament after losing a heartbreaker to Ohio State on Friday in the quarterfinals of the Big Ten Tournament.

It is the seventh NCAA Tournament appearance in program history (1986-91-92-93-94-98) and the 24th postseason appearance in program history. Nebraska is looking for its first NCAA Tournament victory. The 2014 NCAA Tournament marks Nebraska’s first postseason berth since the 2011 National Invitational Tournament. The only Husker on the 2013-14 roster who appeared in the Huskers’ NIT contest at Wichita State was fifth-year senior Ray Gallegos.
