The owners of a now-closed grain elevator in northeast Nebraska are being given another week to get their finances in order.
The original deadline was yesterday for the president of the Pierce County Elevator to present his investment plan to the Nebraska Public Service Commission.
Elevator president Brian Bargstad told the panel he needs more time as several local investors have been lined up but one potential key investor has yet to commit.
John Fecht, grain division director for the commission, says he’s giving Bargstad one more week, until March 26th, to present his financial proposal for reopening the elevator.
Bargstad surrendered the elevator’s grain license earlier this month due to financial troubles.
